Trump rally in Cincinnati wraps up with car chase, crash

Trump supporters are still rallying at a rally on Friday night in Cincinnati, just hours after another vehicle pulled off a highway and struck a police officer.

The event was held as the president continues his “Make America Great Again” tour.

He was in town to announce a “historic” trade deal with Canada and Mexico.

But, instead of making his final pitch, he drove his car and crashed into a traffic light, police said.

The vehicle was headed southbound on I-71, just north of Cincinnati, about 10 miles from the state capital.

The officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

President Donald Trump delivers remarks during a news conference on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

The crash was reported just after 10 p.m. ET.
